Focus mode & typography

Focus Mode (⌘.)

Focus Mode removes everything from the screen except your prose. Press ⌘. to enter it and ⌘. again to exit.

What is hidden

What stays

Typewriter scroll

In Focus Mode, the editor switches to typewriter mode: as you type, the caret stays vertically centred on screen rather than drifting toward the bottom. This keeps your current line at eye level throughout a long writing session.

Restoring panels

When you exit Focus Mode, every panel returns to the state it was in before you entered — the sidebar is restored, the scenes panel re-opens if it was open, and so on.

Typography dock (⌘T)

The Typography dock is a control bar that slides up from the bottom of the window. Toggle it with ⌘T.
